Wow, what a whirlwind the last week has been! With the help of many of my amazing friends, we pulled off a miracle and got The Girl Cave set up just in time for the Grand Opening! It was a fantastic day (with the exception of my air conditioner breaking down on one of the hottest days of the year!) and I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with old friends and meeting so many new ladies. Since the opening, we already have had two classes and a party, so The Girl Cave is off and running! I actually took the beginning sewing class and we all had a blast! There was so much excitement in the room over our learning how to use our machines and creating the adorable Halloween bags designed by the instructor, Mary Jane McDonough, that you would have thought we won the lotto! The next night was the first birthday party, with 10 very exhuberant, energetic and creative little girls! Thank goodness I had the assistance of my papercrafting instructor, Cheryl Loder, because I don’t think I could have kept up with them all on my own. The evening was a big success and the girls all left with the adorable keepsake boxes they helped to design. After so much chaos the previous week, our Saturday cardmaking class was a breeze with the lovely group of ladies who assembled their beautiful card sets and holders. Thank you so much to all of my visitors, hostesses, instructors and students who helped make the opening week of The Girl Cave such a success!
