I discovered my love of papercrafting in 2002 when my first child was born.  I was so enamored with my new baby boy that I wanted to document everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, that he did!  Some of my friends were into scrapbooking and I would sit with them for hours watching them create but was too intimidated to try my first page.  When I finally took the plunge, I was hooked!  Looking back now at my first scrapbooks, I cringe at some of my “creations” but they also put a smile on my face.  Not only were they a documention of my son’s childhood, but they also were the beginning of a life changing hobby for me.  Over the years, I have transitioned from scrapbooking into other areas of crafting, but have found that no matter what I am doing, crafting is my passion, my stress outlet and my chance to spend quality time with friends.  It has also enabled me to meet many phenomenal women who I may not have met otherwise.  In 2006 I became a Close To My Heart rep and for the past few years I have enjoyed teaching classes at various scrapbooking stores and out of my home.   I am now thrilled to be turning my hobby into a full-time career.  I’ve combined two of my favorite things – time with my girlfriends and event planning – to create a fabulous place for women of all ages and backgrounds to get together and have fun.  I look forward to seeing you at The Girl Cave®!

Cheryl Loder,  Papercrafting Instructor

I have always loved all types of crafting. Ten years ago a friend asked me to come over and learn card making. All it took was one visit and I was “addicted” to papercrafting.   Since that day I have not stopped creating!  I must admit I’m a bit of a paper freak….LOVE IT! For the last couple of years I have enjoyed teaching classes at different scrapbooking stores.   It brings joy to my heart to see the look on someone’s face when they receive a handmade gift and/or learn to make the gift themselves. Crafting is my therapy and my chance to meet, enjoy and share with friends old and new.  I’m so excited to be a part of The Girl Cave® and am looking forward to creating many FUN projects and memories with all of you!

Mary Jane McDonough, Sewing Instructor

Mary Jane has been sewing since the age of four.  She gained most of her sewing savy from her step-mother who taught sewing methods and short cuts used by the professionals.  Over the years Mary Jane has added to her skills by taking classes in specialized techniques and now teaches these same time saving techniques to those who don’t have the time or inclination to spend a lot of time on a project.

As a woman’s life coach, motivational speaker and published author of “Chocolate or Vanilla, Life Is All About Choices,” Nancy’s mission is to inspire women to see themselves in a positive light and live their dreams.  Whether it’s in life or in business, Nancy shows women how to create New Beginnings. As a student and teacher of the Martial Arts, she utilizes the philosophies of the Martial Arts to enable women to tap into their inner strength. Nancy believes that once a woman begins to realize the power from within, she will start to ask herself, “If I can do that, what else can I accomplish?” The possibilities then become endless.  Nancy believes that women are very powerful. When brought together, they have the opportunity to learn from the collective knowledge of the group, grow farther than the boundaries they have set for themselves, and obtain goals they never thought possible.  As the leader of the business networking group, New Beginnings, Nancy excels at connecting like-minded women with each other. Many successes have stemmed from the referrals women create when working within her group.
