Have you ever had one of those days where you are so stressed out that you feel like you are going to have a nuclear meltdown, but then you get together with your girlfriends for dinner, and 10 minutes into your meal you have completely forgotten all of your troubles? Nothing is as healing as quality time with good friends (and yummy food and a glass of wine or two)! That is why I am so very excited for our End Of Summer Escape on August 24th. I’m not naming names, but I happen to know how stressed out many of you are and how much you could use a relaxing day with friends, where the biggest decision you have to make is whether you should come in your pj’s or make the effort to pull on some stretchy pants (I like to call them my “big eating clothes”)! I know you have all heard a million times now that you have to take care of yourself first in order to take care of everybody else, but honestly, are you REALLY doing that? Again, I’m not going to name names, but I can answer for many of you with a resounding “NO!” I’ve been a working mom for many, many years and I get it! The guilt can be overwhelming when you take a little “you” time, but one of the ONLY benefits I have found from getting older is the realization that what we have been hearing forever is true…we really ARE better moms, wives, friends, employees, etc. when we do small things on a regular basis to take care of ourselves. So please, do yourself and all of those you love a favor, and make plans to do something 100% for YOU!
